Warning Signs in Kids

Specs For Less

Poor vision during childhood can lead to problems with learning and sports activities, and result in issues of self-esteem and socialization. In detecting a child’s vision problems, parents should look for the following warning signs:

  • one eye wandering out of alignment
  • closing one eye and focusing only with the other
  • habitual squinting
  • frequently looking sideways out of the corner of the eye or up and down
  • complaints of blurring, double vision, and headaches
  • rubbing eyes frequently
  • avoiding vision-dependent activities
