Specs For Less

Poor vision during childhood can lead to problems with learning and sports activities, and result in issues of self-esteem and socialization. In detecting a child’s vision problems, parents should look for the following warning signs:
- one eye wandering out of alignment
- closing one eye and focusing only with the other
- habitual squinting
- frequently looking sideways out of the corner of the eye or up and down
- complaints of blurring, double vision, and headaches
- rubbing eyes frequently
- avoiding vision-dependent activities
